About Au Rendez-Vous De Montmartre

Soft lighting and the warm buzz of conversation create an inviting ambiance where the appeal of North African culinary traditions feels genuine rather than performative. Amidst this atmosphere, the carefully prepared couscous stands out, balancing tender meats and a medley of vegetables with a subtly spiced broth that neither overwhelms nor underdelivers. Patrons often glance at various menus before arriving, and for those curious, there are enough photos online to provide a hint of what to expect, capturing both the vibrant dishes and the cozy interior. Some reviews note that the seating can feel a bit cramped during peak hours, a trade-off for the intimate setting that feels distinct in the hustle of Paris' dining scene.

Textures and flavors intertwine in ways that suggest both tradition and personal touch—the semolina grains fluffily steamed, vegetables precisely cooked, and saffron threads lingering without being cloying. The kitchen’s attentiveness shows in how the menu is curated, with each dish encouraging a slow, thoughtful dining pace. Service maintains a delicate balance between friendliness and professional restraint, although occasional delays can arise when the restaurant is busy. For those looking through the Au Rendez-Vous De Montmartre + restaurant reviews, it’s clear that consistency is appreciated, but moments of inconsistency still surface, reflecting a human element rather than a polished, corporate presence.

Encountering dishes that feel like a shared family secret gives the experience something beyond the typical meal. The portion sizes tend to favor those with larger appetites, while the pricing aligns moderately with the quality of ingredients and care evident in the kitchen’s work. The interplay of spices and textures often inspires diners to revisit online menus and photos for a better understanding of what was savored and what might be ordered next time. Such reflections indicate that Au Rendez-Vous De Montmartre’s identity as a humble couscous establishment in Montmartre remains rooted in offering comfort and cultural authenticity rather than culinary spectacle.

There is one clear value in this family-run restaurant: generosity! We were extremely lucky that they agreed to host our wedding cocktail night. It was absolutely perfect! All of it! The atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed. Our guests got to enjoy the unique spirit of the Montmartre village. The family made sure that every single one of us got enough drinks, food, and attention. And, when I mention food: it is the unmissable couscous that makes the family solid reputation. It was a gorgeous and generous meal for all. Cherry on the cake: their friendly service made sure that all our guests felt at home. We will be back again and again to enjoy the true spirit of Montmartre. Photo credit: @celine_kopp_photographies

I ordered the beef tajine, and the flavor was absolutely amazing and authentic! My friends even mentioned that it was better than some of the tajines they had in Morocco. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, making the experience even better. I would definitely recommend this place and will be coming back for more when I visit Paris again.

I was happy to find a Magreb spot near Mont Marte. The service was great and the Tajine meat was tender but not mushy. The harissa has a unique heat that is not over powering, but has kick and legs.

While exploring Montmartre and climbing the charming Rue Foyatier, my family and I stumbled upon a restaurant called Au Rendez-Vous de Montmartre—and what a find it was. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine warmth. What truly made our evening special was our lovely server, who also happens to be the owner’s son. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our meal. We asked him several questions about the menu, and not only did he answer everything with enthusiasm, but he also made the effort to bring out the tajine dish and explain to my mom how it’s prepared, lifting the lid right at the table. It was such a thoughtful and personal gesture that really stood out. For drinks, I believe we ordered two beers, two mojitos (one mango and one strawberry), and apple juice. For our meal, we shared a kefta tajine, two couscous dishes (one with lamb, one with meatballs), brochette et frite, and a greek salad. The portions were generous and well worth the price, and every dish was full of flavor. It was clear that everything was made with care and love. As Canadian French speakers, we’d encountered a few communication challenges during our time in Paris. But at Au Rendez-Vous, we felt completely at ease. The staff was welcoming and kind, making us feel right at home, no matter how different our accent might have sounded. Thank you for such a fantastic experience! We’ll be thinking about this meal for a long time. Our family wholeheartedly recommends Au Rendez-Vous de Montmartre to anyone visiting Paris—whether you're looking for delicious food, warm service, or just a place that makes you feel welcomed.

Loved the hot French Onion soup. It was yummy and filling. Was served with warmth along with bread and harissa sausce from Tunisia. The place also offers blanket when it's cold.
